CEO Message
The outbreak of COVID-19 has brought upon unprecedented challenges to the economy. LC Capital, like other businesses, is affected by COVID-19. Despite this significant global challenge, we have made tremendous strides towards our goals in the past few years.

A lot of changes have happened since we founded LC Capital. In six years, we have grown from a one-person company to a multinational firm with three subsidiaries – Infinity Capital Group, Infinity Entertainment Group and Infinity Media Group, successfully transitioned from a multi-strategy private equity consulting firm to a full corporate outfit.

To date, we are thinking bigger than multi-strategy value investments. Our goal is to grow our group of companies within the various industries and achieve market leader status in their niches. It is our ambition to create and sustain values, from property development to its associated business lines. When we started our transformation in 2019, we aimed to make sure that LC Capital stayed relevant – that we could introduce out-of-the-box concepts to address the rapidly changing needs and make people’s days better.

Amid COVID-19, people struggled to find enjoyment in the unparalleled times. We saw the needs to be the authority in the lifestyle scene. In January 2020, Infinity Media Group and Infinity Entertainment Group were conceived. ECHELON, launched by Infinity Media Group, is a one-of-a-kind independent luxury lifestyle magazine that leads the conversation of unique luxury inspirations.

For me, taking responsibility means continuously working to develop LC Capital’s capabilities. Under Infinity Entertainment Group, we have launched a collection of distinct gastronomic and entertainment venues. In the past 12 months, we have introduced two new entertainment and dining concepts – a 9-seater omakase restaurant, Sushi Yonjugo, and a new multifaceted nightclub, C45 – in Central, Hong Kong. A sports bar, Ministry of Mussels, will be the group's latest addition in June 2021.

The economy will recalibrate in the long run. Long-term value creations depend heavily upon having commercially sustainable projects. Being able to spot advantages in the various market conditions has traditionally been the key to identifying these projects. However, the best advantages are usually not so obvious. Therefore, to stay ahead of the curve, we will continue to see and not just look; we will continue to understand and not just listen.

Covid-19 is placing considerable strain on our society. To me, the year ahead will bring its challenges. Ironically, the journey only begins when you start questioning the challenges. But you persevere, sieve through the noise and trudge through the rough conditions. Then it all becomes crystal clear.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Cheng
